Pallavi Datta

Undergraduate Research Fellow

Pallavi Datta is an Undergraduate Research Fellow at The People Lab and a rising senior at Swarthmore College, where she is pursuing an Honors double major in Economics and Mathematics. Her research interests include public economics, environmental economics, and political economy. Outside The People Lab, she has worked as a research assistant for the Swarthmore Behavioral Economics Lab conducting empirical analysis and writing policy memos for a project in collaboration with the World Resources Institute on the effects of behavioral interventions to encourage household water conservation in Monterrey, Mexico. She is especially drawn to questions of how micro-level decision-making and behavioral dynamics influence government effectiveness, as well as how academic research can be translated into effective policy design and implementation.
